Nice amp in a small package July 23, 2010

The Alpine PDX-5 is a fine amplifier in a very attractive, small package. I ended up placing it where the front part of my center console once was in my Silverado and so it is very visible. Although normally the blue square would not be a problem, at night it is a bit bright but then this installation is a bit unusual. It looks as good as it sounds which turned out to be a very good thing. Easy to install, it also has excellent input stages that suppress the alternator whine I heard with another amplifier. I highly recommend this unit.

I purchased this Alpine PDX-5 amp to go along with my four Rockford Fosgate T1682 6X8 speakers. The drive power of this amp is incredible. These speakers call for a constant push of 75-80 watts and that is exactly what this amp does. The sound is beautiful.
The only negative I have is my own inability to afford to include the Sub I want. Because of the vehicle I drive, I require a special Sub en-closer that substantially drives up the price of a sub install. So until a month or so, my sub purchase will have to take a back seat. This amp really puts out with just my Fosgate speakers, but when my sub is installed, I will be completely happy with the 300 watt output this amp provides to the sub. I am confident the sub and power of my sub will also be outstanding.

Excellent product. Lots of clean power for the price. I do like how the crossover adjustments are hidden behind a faceplate, making a nice looking presentation for those who like to show their toys (I prefer to hide them). Wiring is straight forward with speaker wire clips that made connections very easy. Mounting hardware is included (4 screws) as well as the two little allen wrenches to tighten connections.

This thing puts out clarity in your music, it's so small that the wife does not notice it's under the drivers seat of a Honda Pilot. people would normally ask "Where's the amp?" It even comes with a birth certificate, what? I've been using it for about 3 years and it's still awesome. When it dies I would probably buy another one in a jiffy. I think there's a new model out, but why fix something that's not broke.

bought this to power my sony car stereo with 2 6x9 and 2 5 1/4 plus a 8 inch sub. With no top or doors, road noise is very high. This amp allows me to get the most power out of my system for clean, crips sound even when on the highway. This seller was very fast in delivery
